I’m amazed to see my kids love towards books:

 Mr. Jiwan Karki, a resident of Khairhani municipality is a member of the local government. He has been involved in library activities a lot. When he came to know about the “300 Books for children” in the library, he did not believe that this can happen. He has 2 kids who are taken care of by their grandmother. His elder kids have just joined the primary school and the younger one is just 2 years old. His elder son who has just joined school was not fond of reading and writing in school and home.

As he also grew up in a community where reading books considered only for appearing school exams and passing, He took his son not willing to study normally. He was told by one of the volunteers from Dibyajyoti Community Library about the educational program where children from 6 months can participate. First, he felt it funny as he doesn’t have any idea that the learning attitude and creativity of a child begins from the very age of 6 months. So, He participated in an orientation program for children and parents on the methods of developing a learning attitude in kids and decided to send both of his kids to participate in the program.

After enrolling in the program he began to borrow books for his kids and read out stories for them at home. Alongside he regularly sent his kids to the library and gradually he began to realize changes in his kids. His elder son who always tries to avoid books is now loving reading books from school and the library. Where he had to force his son to read at home before, now his son does his home assignments and reads books regularly after school. He also requests his parents to take him to the library. Likewise, there were changes in his younger son as well. After participating in the program, his son’s learning speed has increased. His attention was diverted towards books from the toys these days. He is very much amazed to see these changes in his kids.
